Sun Fire X4100 M2 X4200 M2 X4600 M2 Server

Regarding the Sun N1 System Manager documentation, there are also new versions (M2 = Model 2) of the Galaxy Servers on the way. Hope that Sun N1 Service Provisioning System (N1 SPS) OSP Plugin will also support the new Server versions.

I have several X4100 M2 machines and have had issues with everyone of them. I would suggest that anyone considering purchasing them look for a different model if you are sold on Sun products. Each X4100 M2 machines have had to have their power supplies, ilom and memory replaced. Their serial numbers are not valid on the sun website to open a support case but when you call the engineer politely states that these are to new to be in the web system. WHAT! They should be in the web system before they even ship. We’ve had so much trouble with them Sun sent us a free server. Guess what I’ve just spent two days troubleshooting with SUN because this machine is taking over 30 minutes to boot into the OS. I mean jeesh. I have 5 year old Dell servers that boot in several minutes and have never had to contact SUN. I could rant all day. Just wanted to let everyone know to steer away from the X4100 M2 headache.
